UGS Playoffs Update
Posted by : doomweaver

3D.CoD continues to make progress in UGS... this time with a Semi-Finals win over the reformed team Wat?, on mp_dawnville.

While the score of this match ended up being 13-6 (8-4, 5-2) in favor of our side, it really is not indicative of how well Wat? played. They had a solid run during the match on offense and were able to win an impressive four rounds, with many others being close. In the second half, we were able to execute our offensive strategies flawlessly, adapting to their different types of defensive setups. We eventually took the five rounds we needed to win the match and secure ourselves a spot in the Finals. I fully expect these guys (many of whom we've competed against in other games) to take Wat? right back into the North American top 5 in short order.

The UGS Finals have not been scheduled yet, so nothing to report there other than that we will be playing The Stomping Grounds. Expect more news on that the minute it becomes available!

I've also had a healthy number of people contact me on IRC about the existence of a 3D Call of Duty pub. For those of you that missed the earlier posts... here ya go.

3D vs. GameWyze: Postgame Report
Posted by : efnex

FINAL SCORE: 3D over GameWyze 13-11

In their third meeting this season, 3D was victorious over GameWyze in an extremely close and tense match. It's always very interesting when these two teams meet.

3D started out as CT on de_cpl_fire, and lost the opening pistol round, as well as the next two rounds. GameWyze's attacks were able to get past 3D in the fourth round, and one round later, they were up 5-0. 3D, however, began to fight back; with some amazing awping from Ksharp and incredible use of the colt from moto, they took the next seven in a row, finishing off the half 7-5. Both Ksharp and moto finished off with 13 frags each.

Switching to terrorist, 3D lost the pistol round once again. Although 3D bought in the third round, GameWyze still took it, as well as the next two rounds, and they soon had a 5-0 lead. However, with some more superb awping from Ksharp, 3D won the next five in a row, needing only one more to win. GameWyze took the next, and in a very tense final round, 3D was able to grab the needed win, and took the match, 13-11.

Excellent job 3D, and a very good game to GameWyze! Stay tuned to team3d.net for Sunday's makeup match against Cyberglobe on de_nuke.

3D vs. GameWyze: Pregame Report
Posted by : efnex

Thursday night's CAL-invite action finds 3D facing up against GameWyze on de_cpl_fire, a map made specifically for league play. Though the games were often close, 3D has had many victories on this map, and looks to continue the streak tonight. In their previous meetings this season, 3D took down GameWyze with scores of 14-10 and 13-11. I asked 3D's steel how he felt about tonight's match: "Based on our previous showdowns with gamewyze, this should be an exciting match!"

GameWyze's roster has been quite stable for the most part throughout this season, the only notable changes being the loss of the Dickens brothers, Warden and Mason, and picking up Gambit and Destroyer from TAU.

We'll see how well 3D can do against GameWyze tonight on fire, as they look to triumph for the third time in CAL-invite Season 10.

3D's Lineup: moto, Ksharp, Rambo, boms, steel
